HowTo: Locating the ZiLink menu in Moodle
Please refer to the HowTo: Locating the ZiLink menu in Moodle which covers logging into moodle and locating the ZiLink section.
Navigate to the configuration option
Login as an Administrator into your Moodle and navigate to Site administration > ZiLink > Bookings > Rooms and click 'Configuration.'
Configure ZiLink Room Booking
1. Weeks in Advance - You can limit the number of weeks in advance that a room can be booked. In this example, teachers can only book rooms up to four weeks in advance. NB. This setting will also effect the number of weeks in advance that a timetable can be viewed.
2. Email Notifications - Select 'Enable' from the drop-down list so that when a room is booked an e-mail is sent to students and teachers to notify them of the room change.
3. Bookable Rooms - Select the rooms that you want to allow and be available for bookings. Unchecked rooms will not be available for booking.
If you have an alternative room booking system, you can add the URL in this section. The result is that when a teacher clicks the Room Booking link on their pages, they will be taken to this alternative location rather than use ZiLink Room Booking.
You'll find this option at the bottom of the page.
Click 'Save changes' when finished
Don't forget to change Moodle permissions
Go to Site administration > Users > Define Roles > Teacher role and click the 'Edit' icon.
Use Find (Ctrl+F) and search for bookings_rooms_viewown, set it to 'Allow' and click 'Save changes' at the bottom of the page.
Teachers will now be able to see the Room Booking link in their Timetable block.
