How to use ZiLink Timetable

The ZiLink timetable is built from your school MIS data and displays within Moodle. A version of the timetable can be seen by teachers, students and parents.

The timetable can also be used for navigation within Moodle so that students can click a lesson in their timetable and it will take them to the appropriate Moodle course.

Your Moodle Administrator will locate your timetable on your default home page and/or your Moodle User Profile. In some circumstances it can also be displayed within the central area of your home page but this is dependent upon your Moodle theme allowing this to happen - see your Moodle Administrator.

In all cases, there will be a small panel on your home page similar to above. Click 'My Timetable' to view your timetable.

The timetable is easy to use.

  1. This drop-down list gives you an opportunity to check your timetable in advance. It's very useful if your school, for example, has a two-week timetable, you can view your timetable by selecting the correct date from the list. It does default to the current week.
  2. Where a subject has a live link, you can navigate to the course. The live link occurs where you have allowed your students to see the course which is a setting in your Moodle course settings. This ensures that students do not have a long list of courses with no content and can only see courses where a teacher has added content and enabled the course.
  3. Where there is no live link, the course has not yet been made available to students.
  4. A lesson coloured blue indicates that the group has been moved to an alternative teaching space. Please see 'Room Booking' for details on using this feature. This change in colour is also in the students and parents versions of the timetable to alert them to a room change.
